Kyle Sandilands breaks down over Jackie O’s health battle — and admits the fallout changed how he sees people forever
For more than two decades, Kyle Sandilands and Jackie “O” Henderson were one of Australian radio’s most recognisable partnerships.
But after the spectacular collapse of their working relationship earlier this year, the pair are now on opposite sides of a bitter legal dispute — and Kyle has revealed just how deeply the latest developments have affected him.
Speaking on Kyle Sandilands Live, the 55-year-old became emotional while discussing reports that Henderson had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as referenced in documents filed in her Federal Court case against ARN Media.

“I just fell apart this morning”
Kyle said he woke up to the news and was overwhelmed by emotion.
He described himself as “shattered”, saying he immediately broke down in tears after learning more about Jackie’s condition and the allegations contained in the court documents.
The reaction was striking given the extraordinary deterioration of a partnership that had once appeared almost inseparable.
For years, Kyle and Jackie O were known for their irreverent humour, on-air chemistry and ability to turn their own lives into radio entertainment.
Now, their relationship has become part of a much more serious legal battle.
What Jackie O has alleged
Court documents released as part of Jackie Henderson’s proceedings against ARN Media contain allegations about the working environment she experienced while co-hosting the KIIS FM program.
According to her sworn statement, Henderson alleged that she was repeatedly belittled and humiliated by Sandilands and that the cumulative effect left her feeling anxious and emotionally unsafe at work.
She said the alleged behaviour became particularly difficult from 2023 onwards.
A medical report referenced in the proceedings states that Henderson was suffering from PTSD, with the report attributing it to alleged workplace bullying and what it described as a failure by ARN to provide appropriate care and protection.
These are allegations made in legal proceedings and have not been established as findings of fact. ARN disputes Henderson’s claims and is defending the proceedings.

Kyle strongly disputes her version of events
Kyle has made clear that he does not recognise the picture presented in the documents.
He said the allegations were deeply upsetting because, from his perspective, they were fundamentally different from what he believed had happened during their years together on air.
His response appeared to come from a mixture of anger, disbelief and hurt.
For someone who had spent much of his professional life alongside Henderson, seeing their relationship described so differently in court documents was clearly difficult for him to process.
A partnership that once seemed unbreakable
The collapse is particularly striking because Kyle and Jackie O had worked together for roughly 25 years.
Their partnership survived changes in networks, personal challenges, enormous ratings pressure and countless controversial moments.
But the relationship finally unravelled following an on-air confrontation on February 20, 2026.
The argument centred in part on Jackie’s interest in astrology, with Kyle criticising her behaviour on air. She subsequently told ARN that she could no longer work with him.
The Kyle and Jackie O Show was subsequently taken off air, and both presenters’ contracts were terminated.
Jackie O’s legal battle is still continuing
Henderson later launched legal action against ARN Media, claiming at least $82.25 million in compensation over the termination of her contract.
ARN has disputed her claims and intends to defend the proceedings.
The case remains separate from Kyle’s legal dispute with ARN.
Kyle originally pursued a much larger claim against the company, but in June 2026 ARN agreed to pay him $12.09 million to settle his case. The company also agreed to provide advertising for his new independent media project under a separate arrangement.
Jackie’s case, however, continues.
Kyle has already hinted at a different relationship with Jackie
Despite the bitterness surrounding their professional split, Kyle has previously indicated that he does not necessarily want the relationship to remain permanently hostile.
After settling with ARN, he said he had contacted Jackie to explain what he was doing with his new project and apologised for occasions when he may have made her feel “less than wonderful”.
He also said he hoped they could speak about what had happened one day, while acknowledging that her legal proceedings needed to play out.
That makes his latest emotional reaction all the more complicated.
Behind the anger is someone who spent decades working alongside the same person — and who now appears to be struggling with how differently they remember that shared history.
From radio partners to a painful new chapter
Kyle and Jackie O’s partnership once represented one of Australian radio’s most enduring professional relationships.
Today, their story is being told through court documents, competing accounts and deeply personal allegations.
The legal process will ultimately determine the disputed issues.
But Kyle’s emotional reaction reveals something that cannot easily be measured in ratings or legal figures: the personal cost of watching a decades-long partnership unravel, with both sides now describing the past in dramatically different ways.
For now, the future of their relationship remains uncertain — and whether the two will ever be able to sit down and have the conversation Kyle says he hopes for may depend on what happens next in court.
