Tinhlm – Fans rally behind Jacob Elordi after controversial fan interaction goes viral

Fans have jumped to the defence of Aussie star Jacob Elordi after a video posted by a fan has gone viral on social media.

In the clip, the fan can be seen filming Elordi, 28, as he walks past before walking behind him and gently placing a hand on his back to get his attention, which prompted Elordi to set a firm boundary.

Elordi appeared to walk past the fan, avoiding any conversation or picture opportunity, so when the fan approached him from behind and put a hand on his back, he turned around to speak to him.

“Don’t touch me bro,” Elordi can be heard saying in the clip.

The fan posted the video to both Instagram and TikTok, captioning the clip, “Just wanted a picture chief”.

At the time of publishing, the video has amassed more than two million views on TikTok, but the reaction doesn’t seem to be what the fan had potentially expected.

“I’m sure you wouldn’t want strangers touching you either.. Celebrity or not… Don’t touch people you don’t know,” read one comment.

“I would never touch a celebrity to get their attention. Put yourself in their shoes…your innocent tap reads a bit different when you’ve been hounded relentlessly by so many different types of fans, paparazzi, etc,” another commenter added.

“It’s just not fair to judge this the way we would normally tap or gently touch someone to get their attention.”

The original poster soon jumped to his own defence after seemingly receiving a barrage of comments in defence of Elordi’s reaction.

“Some of you in the comments are so soft, you’ve got me laughing 😂,” he wrote.

He went on to explain that he had been in line at a restaurant when Elordi and Kendall Jenner walked in.

He clarified that he did not approach them while they were eating, instead asking them for a picture on their way out.

“Just a fan who was excited to meet him and wanted to capture the moment, that’s all,” he wrote.

“No disrespect intended. It’s not like I stalked them or wrapped him in a bear hug. No big deal.”
