Emilie Kiser has opened up on the complicated emotions she had towards her husband in her first interview since the death of their toddler son, Trigg.
The influencer, 27, spoke candidly on a recent episode of Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast and revealed how she forgave Brad Kiser, 29, after the tragic accident.

Emilie’s interview with Shetty is the first time she has opened up publicly about losing three-year-old Trigg, who died in May 2025 after drowning in their backyard pool.
At the time her husband Brady was at home with their two children, Trigg and Theodore, who was born in March 2025.
“When you lose your child, you really don’t care about anything else besides doing your best to get through it,” Kiser said.
“And there’s not even a ‘through it’. You don’t get through it.”
Throughout the last year, Emilie admitted she’s given her husband a lot of empathy and it’s been a lot for both of them.
“We’ve really done our best to grieve together and to talk through every emotion and every feeling. I really give Brady so much empathy and respect. I have so much respect for him, honestly, and I think that would maybe shock people,” Emilie explained.
“But he has allowed me to take out every emotion I’ve had throughout this process, whether it’s on him or talking to him or with other people.”
Emilie stressed that over the last 12 months, Brad has been going through a lot too.

“I just have so much respect for that, of how much he has let me feel every emotion and he’s never made me feel bad for it. He’s going through so much as well, and like I said, we are the only two people that can understand at all what the other person is going through,” she continued.
Emilie also addressed how she forgave her husband, admitting she “felt so angry at him” in the weeks after Trigg’s death, at one point even thinking about their marriage ending.

But she eventually realised that she could have been the one in Brady’s position and home with the kids during the tragic incident.
“This could have just as easily been me in Brady’s position,” she explained.
“Brady was taking care of our newborn child. When I left for dinner that night, he was de-thawing my breast milk, trying to get Teddy settled.
“That doesn’t excuse anything. It doesn’t excuse what happened. It doesn’t excuse any of the series of events after that.”

Emilie said that taking accountability along with other things that she could have changed helped her with a “true, deep, real, raw, empathy of him.”
“This could have been me … I would so deeply want him to forgive me and to know that I didn’t mean for it to happen,” she continued.
“That’s exactly how I feel for Brady. I really just have so much empathy and love for him and he is so strong. I’m really proud of us, honestly, and how we’ve grieved together.”

Emilie and Brady’s son Trigg died in May 2025, after being found unconscious in the pool in the backyard of their family home.
Initially, authorities recommended pressing criminal charges against Brady, because he was the only adult home at the time of the accident.
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office decided against it because there was “no likelihood of conviction.”
The influencer has been open about her journey with grief on social media, sharing posts across Instagram and TikTok as they navigate life without Trigg.
